Go West

Heavens hidden from view
By snow and ice I cannot look through

Like the paradise that i know
is always within reach
If only I let go of all the bullshit
I’ve allowed myself to believe

Roadside hills
The only mountains I see
Maybe if the Rockies show their face
I’ll be able to Climb the mountains in me

But a break forms in the clouds
As light battles it’s way down
Bringing warmth and color to me
And breathe to the frozen, lifeless ground

The snow looks blue
Beaneath 2:27 pm skies
Like little frozen ocean pools
Into which the soul of a man could dive

I have seen beauty
I have known love
And maybe I’m lyin to myself
But maybe that’s good enough
